Should Apple be worried? What about RIM? Could the iPhone and Blackberry have some real competition from the Google Android G1? According to the Google Android G1 handset manufacturer, HTC, they expect to sell 1 million Google Android G1 phones by the end of 2008, which is up from an original estimate of 600,000.
From what I’ve heard so far from people who have tried the Google Android G1, they’re impressed with the phone, and it seems to be a real competitor. The major problem – the less than satisfying T-Mobile network and service.
I haven’t gotten to see one in person yet. Have you? What do you think of the Google Android G1? Should Apple and RIM be worried?
The iPhone is very cool, but AT&T Wireless service is nothing to get excited about. A consumer could go with service through Verizon Wireless, which users are typically happiest with in comparison to other carriers, but the Blackberry Storm is not generating rave reviews. What’s a consumer to do? No single solution has risen to the top yet. What are your predictions?
If you could have any mobile phone with any network, what would you choose?

I still can’t understand why customers are shackled to a crappy provider if they want a particular phone. I’d be willing to switch to an iPhone, but have received poor performance/service from AT&T in the past, so I don’t consider this an option. I’ve also heard nothing stellar about T-Mobile, so again, the Android is not in consideration.
Generally, I view the BlackBerry handsets as more business-friendly (push e-mail, etc.) and therefore aren’t a good alternative for a personal mobile…I’ve been a loyal Verizon Wireless customer for almost 10 years now, but what’s a guy to do?
