In my most recent article on Entrepreneur.com, I share 5 steps to promote your business blog through Facebook, LinkedIn and social networking tools to build your brand and business. The tips come directly from my book, “The Complete Idiot’s Guide to WordPress.” In the article, I explain,

“Building an audience from scratch for your blog doesn’t always happen overnight. Fortunately, several opportunities are available through social media to help spread the word. Doing so will require more than creating a profile on popular sites such as Facebook and LinkedIn, especially if you want to use social networking to increase awareness of your business and traffic to your business blog.”

    This is a good read. I 100% that building followers and connections via social media doesn’t happen over night, in fact it can be incredibly difficult. I’m working on marketing via social media and am attempting to increase our position on Google, but it isn’t as easy as it sounds.
    I use Twitter daily to promote my blogs/company news/industry news but I don’t have a hige following so I’m not quite sure of how many people are seeing it.
    I have learnt quite a lot of tactics for Twitter though. There are a couple of blog articles on our websites about making the most out of social media and getting good results – this may be of use to anyone reading this http://www.lucidica.com/blog/category/online-marketing/social-media/
