It had to happen. First Apple released a laptop computer that could fit in a manilla envelope, and now Samsung Electronics has unvelied the world’s slimmest LCD TV.
At just 1/4″ think (.26 inches, to be exact), the new LCD TV is slimmer than the vast majority of mobile phones. No word on the price yet, but Samsung will show off its new 1/4″ LCD TV at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas this week.
Certainly, the trend in making gadgets and electronics smaller is showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon. It will be interesting to watch how the increasingly smaller products will be positioned in the marketplace, from price point to segmentation, and so on.

Okay, I’m sold. If I don’t get one for my birthday at least this is another factor that might drive down the cost of competitive products. I had heard good things about the Vizio brand offered at most Wal*Marts and think it might be a good candidate to replace our 19″ tube television that’s on it’s last legs. Now, do I wall mount the replacement of will a pedestal unit suffice…
