Whether you own a company where you offer your services in exchange for a fee or you’re a freelancer, the ugly truth is that everyone believes that since you’re selling your talent, expertise, and time, the price is negotiable. Thanks to this hilarious YouTube video where the vendor-client relationship is re-enacted in real world situations, perhaps word will get out that haggling is uncool.

Like all great comedy, this wouldn’t be nearly as funny if it weren’t so true. I’ve been the customer and am less sympathetic to the service provider because they so often try wriggle out of providing a contracted service.
I’ve also seen the case where a provider wins a contract by making a low-ball offer, but if you don’t watch for changes during the award process, some rcontract equirements are dropped and the vendor recoups any losses by charging a premium when the “lost” requirements are discovered/needed afterwards.
